Plein 1944 Nijmegen reaches its 'highest point'

The topping out ceremony for Plein 1944 in Nijmegen took place on 27th February 2013. Developer ING Real Estate organised the festivities for the employees of the Consortium Plein 1994, future residents, representatives from Nijmegen Council, estate agents, consultants and supervisors.

Head foreman Benny Peters was the first to be handed a bottle of specially brewed beer by the client’s representative, Project Manager Johan Loeffen. A pleasurable milestone on the road to completion. After the climb of the last few months it's now time to strike the scaffold and look forward to completion at the end of the year.

About Plein 1944

In association with Veluwezoom Verkerk we will be constructing a four storey basement car park (415 places), cycle parking (1200 places), shops and hospitality areas (approximately 12 000 m2) along with 134 apartments.

In the next few years Plein1944 in Nijmegen will be transformed into a destination meeting place. The square will be surrounded by three new residential buildings, shops and restaurants. Below the square, a car park with 415 places for residents and permit holders. Moreover there's underground parking for 1200 bicycles for visitors to the area.
