Complete renovation and the internal conversion of the existing GGD building, including an STI clinic, a Tuberculosis research laboratory and office spaces.
The project involved the complete internal renovation of all office, meeting, residence and treatment rooms (containing among other an STD outpatient department and a Tuberculosis research laboratory) of the Central Office of the GGD in Amsterdam (commercial work). The location of the project and the limited space requirements required detailed logistical planning. During the works, the building remained in use; the movement of visitors/patients and employees had to be unhindered.
The building is Historically Listed (registration number RM 518494). In addition, the project was located within an urban space and access for delivery and removal of materials waslimited to only one side. With help from the interior designer, the property was fully renovated while still retaining the most important historical details. The building was in use during the works.
This project was delivered by MedicomZes (a trading name of Visser & Smit Bouw bv).
