Construction of a multimedia building with recording studios, offices, workspaces, and a car park.
The building is composed of nine floors, comprising an underground car park, ground floor and seven storeys above (12 000sqm). The building was erected from within a cofferdam with sheet steel walls. From which was formed the in-situ concrete car park, whose roof formed the ground floor of the building. The ground floor is an in-situ concrete slab formed in shuttering.
The superstructure was formed by a concrete core with steel columns and hat beams onto which were placed hollow core slabs with a screed finish and partly consisting of a heavy truss construction. In it are three story floors of hollow core slab construction. In the hollow core floors and the car park ramps the only heating used was a radiant slab system. The facades consist partly of curtain walls of structural glass, cast iron facade elements and exterior elements of reinforced polyester resin concrete. The project contains a number of passenger lifts.
Due to the inner-city location a traffic circulation plan was drawn up in consultation with the police and other municipal authorities. One of the tenants is RTV Rijnmond.
