Construction of a pulverized coal plant for RWE in the Eemshaven Energy Park.
The power plant is constructed on a 54 hectare site within the Eemshaven Energy Park and will have a capacity of 1600 MW.
The highest tower constructed is 113m high.
The design was more or less complete, because RWE has already built other power plants in Europe. The drawings were produced by EnviCon and HTC (Germany).
Almost 7000 piles and 350 000m3 of concrete have been used in the construction, along with 8000 tonnes of sheet piles, gliding formworks and different prefabricated elements.
A new harbour, de Wilhelminahaven, is being constructed near to the current harbour (Eemshaven). In the future, the coal will be delivered to this new harbour.
The plant has a capacity of 1600 MW. Once completed the plant will reliably supply two million households with electricity
